All out Deluxe Trim kits are an exact reproduction of the original items. With over 15 years of experience in producing these kits and continual improvement of tooling, we believe our trim fits as well as the original item.
All curves are pressed into the correct shape with male/female tooling for accurate consistent results.
Both side trims have been curved vertically to fit the compound curve of the rear corners and will just roll round with the palm of your hand. This is extremely easy and takes seconds. See fitting instructions for further details.
We do this as we prefer to ship this trim in a flat 3mtr long box with the trim secured to a strip of wood to protect the box and trim from bending in transit. This way the long sides remains straight and sharp !
Front door trims are pre bent vertically and horizontally and require no extra shaping.
Front nose pieces are hydraulically pressed to the correct vertical curvature and only require gentle coaxing down to the nose panel. (No tools needed.) Each Trim section is supplied polished to a high standard with all holes punched, end caps and zinc plated screws (they secure better than soft stainless screws).
A choice of infill colours are available.
DAVES TIP
When ever possible it is advisable to fit Body Trim when the body is in bare metal or primer. Having said that, it is equally possible to install the kit after painting if you take great care. We have had to do this on numerous occasions !
NOTE
Our trim has holes that are punched in. Our holes are not countersunk but you can do so easily yourself if you so wish although it is not vital as the screws we supply have a shallow head. Please note that like original replacement VW pieces, our holes must not be expected to line up with any holes drilled in your body. We recommend all existing body holes are welded up prior to painting and re drilled through your new trim.
