When we launched our Weedeater beams in 2003, they were to our knowledge, the first brand new production made narrowed bus beams in the world. Sold through our worldwide dealership network, they have always been in demand as a well designed quality product with many unique design features built in. There have since been several other narrowed beams offered by competitors but none with as many standard features or the same high build quality. In December 2007 we became aware of imported counterfeit beams that are visually identical but are not built to the same quality. These have been copied without our permission and are not endorsed by us . Since their arrival on these shores, we have had several owners contact us with problems including failure whilst the vehicle was being driven. Creative Engineering accepts no responsibility for these counterfeit products, their design, or injuries caused through their use. Our advise, don’t buy one !

We manufacture all Weedeaters Beams using CNC Laser technology. All profiles and even the tubes, are laser cut for pin point accuracy allowing us to get perfect inter component fit and a quality. By using a tube laser we not only insure tubes are perfectly square when cut but it also cuts all the holes for the grease nipples, bearing stops and the adjustor slots at the same time. This kind of accuracy is not offered by our competitors.

All parts are perfectly aligned by an experienced professional welder in our carefully developed jigs so you can be sure your new beam will fit into your bus perfectly. Don’t be fooled by thinking beams can be accurately built on a bench without a substantial jig. Our jigs take a fork lift truck to lift them and we have three of them ! Remember this is your front end, your handling and safety depend on it being correct.

The two beam tubes are CDS (cold drawn seamless) for maximum strength and are actually heavier wall than original. Most other beams are less expensive and weaker ERW steel tube.

We have installed a three piece CNC turned steering boss the way VW did it, which we ream and fit new steering arm bushes. ( some of the competition uses a single piece of thin wall tubing. ) We also supply the remaining steering pin parts so you can attach your idler arm.

Your new Weedeater is supplied with photographic fitting instructions that show you how to shorten your torsion springs.

You will need to fit two new adjustable tie rods if you are purchasing a narrowed beam. These have to be narrowed also. We can offer brand new narrowed deep threaded tie rods to save you the job of shortening originals and offer greater safety than cut down originals because they do not loose any internal thread length.

Your torsion springs will require cutting and drilling on all narrowed beams. This is a simple job within most people’s capabilities, but must be carried out with accuracy and care. Our new beams are manufactured 84mm narrower than your original bus beam, thereby giving you increased tire clearance. This allows you to drop your bus lower than you can with your stock beam, and because they come complete with new multi position adjustors built in, you can adjust your drop from stock, to approx 6″
